TechFlow news, April 17 — According to Jinshi Data, Singapore Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong said during a dialogue session with the National Trades Union Congress and union leaders that the U.S. "America First" policy is essentially a zero-sum game, and that increased U.S. tariffs could quickly trigger an economic recession in the United States itself, while also affecting other regions worldwide.
Lee stated that the United States is seeking and promoting a "fundamentally different world," whose strategic core is not "win-win cooperation," but rather "either win or lose." He added that Singapore will continue to firmly support free trade, multilateralism, and the World Trade Organization, striving to maintain the normal functioning of the global economic system and prevent it from collapsing due to U.S. withdrawal.
