At the close of New York trading, 1 euro was exchanged for 1.1312 dollars, up from 1.1215 dollars the previous trading day; 1 British pound for 1.3060 dollars, higher than 1.2982 dollars the prior day. One dollar was traded for 143.81 yen, down from 144.58 yen; for 0.8170 Swiss francs, below 0.8242 francs; for 1.3889 Canadian dollars, less than 1.3986 Canadian dollars; and for 9.7920 Swedish kronor, down from 9.8491 kronor.
