TechFlow, April 8 - According to Jinshi Data, an EU spokesperson said on Tuesday that despite the Trump administration's rejection of Brussels' proposal for "zero-for-zero" tariffs on all industrial goods, the EU still hopes to avoid a trade war with the United States.
White House trade advisor Peter Navarro said on Monday that if the EU wants to reach an agreement, it needs to lower non-tariff barriers, including those created by value-added taxes and food safety regulations. The EU spokesperson stated: "The situation hasn't changed. We want to avoid tariffs... We are waiting for our US counterparts to engage in a meaningful way."
