TechFlow, April 8 — According to Cryptonews, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) announced that the Federal Court has approved its application to shut down 95 companies involved in cryptocurrency investment scams and online romance fraud.
These companies are accused of participating in "pig-butchering" scams, luring victims through fake websites and apps. Nearly 1,500 victims from 14 countries including Australia, the United States, and India have filed claims, reporting losses exceeding $35.8 million.
