TechFlow, April 3 — According to Cryptonews, Dmitry Aristov, head of the Federal Bailiffs Service (FSSP) of the Russian Federation, said the agency has developed a new method to convert seized bitcoins in criminal cases into treasury cash revenue.
Aristov revealed at a meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation that law enforcement is collaborating with relevant parties to develop mechanisms for converting bitcoin into state revenue. He cited a landmark criminal case as a legal precedent, while also calling for further legislation to clarify bitcoin's legal status in Russia.
