TechFlow, April 1 — According to a post by former Forbes business journalist Eleanor Terrett, Brian Quintenz, the incoming chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has begun meeting with senators on Capitol Hill in preparation for his confirmation hearing.
Quintenz met today with Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, a Republican, to discuss CFTC-related matters, including the cryptocurrency spot market.
Grassley is a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, which oversees the CFTC and will play a key role in determining whether the CFTC expands its regulatory authority over cryptocurrency spot markets.
