TechFlow news, on March 13, according to The Block, the GnosisDAO community has reached a voting consensus to invest an additional $4.8 million to fund HOPR's continued development of the Gnosis VPN. The vote will conclude at 5:00 AM Beijing time on March 14. In exchange, Gnosis will receive a significant share of the HOPR Association treasury.
HOPR co-founder Sebastian Bürgel stated in the proposal that decentralized VPNs represent an untapped and potentially lucrative market. The project plans to launch a consumer-facing, privacy-preserving open-source application within two years. The current proof-of-concept version has successfully hidden user IP data and metadata, but further development is required to achieve a truly censorship-resistant service.
