TechFlow news, on March 11, according to CoinDesk, Circle has launched version 2 of its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), significantly reducing transaction times by cutting the typical 13–19 minute wait on Ethereum and its Layer 2 networks down to just a few seconds.
The new version includes a "Fast Transfers" feature enabling near-instant cross-chain transfers, as well as a functionality called "Hooks" that allows developers to program automated actions—such as asset swaps or fund management—on the destination blockchain.
The upgraded protocol is now live on Ethereum, Avalanche, and Base, with plans for integration across additional blockchains later this year. Several platforms have already adopted the protocol, including CCTP.Money, Interport, and LI.FI.
