TechFlow news: On March 11, according to analysis by Qi An Xin Xlab Laboratory, the large-scale cyberattack that caused the X platform to crash three times is linked to the same primary botnet responsible for attacks on DeepSeek during the Spring Festival. This network, identified as a Mirai variant botnet known as RapperBot, belongs to a "professional hitman"-style attack organization.
Qi An Xin Xlab Laboratory found that the attack timing perfectly matched the X platform's downtime, primarily concentrated between 10 PM on March 10 and 2 AM on March 11, Beijing time. This botnet has remained consistently active, attacking hundreds of targets daily, issuing over a thousand command instructions at peak times, with targets distributed across Brazil, Belarus, Russia, China, Sweden, and other regions. The unprecedented scale and intensity of this attack directly led to three significant service outages on the X platform on March 10, Eastern Time, with up to 20,538 users reporting issues at its peak.
