TechFlow news — On March 7, Alex Thorn, Head of Research at Galaxy Digital, revealed that the U.S. government currently has up to 88,000 bitcoins available to potentially reallocate as reserves, representing only 43% of its current holdings. This is because out of the approximately 198,000 bitcoins held by the U.S. government, 112,000 must be returned to the exchange Bitfinex.
Alex Thorn stated that the market will come to understand the difference between "seized" and "confiscated." He added that 97.7% of the cryptocurrencies held by the government are Bitcoin, and this figure would reach 98% if WBTC is included.
