The government solemnly clarified that such information is "absolutely false and deliberately fraudulent," and strongly condemned those who impersonate the Chief Executive to spread disinformation.
The spokesperson advised members of the public to carefully verify the authenticity of any information and remain vigilant against fraud. The case has been referred to the police for investigation.
Previous report, the X account疑似belonging to Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee was possibly compromised and used to post content about the token.
