TechFlow News — On March 5, according to an official announcement from Circle, Linea, the zkEVM Layer-2 blockchain under Consensys, will become the first blockchain network to upgrade its bridged USDC standard to native USDC.
Following the upcoming mainnet upgrade, Linea will also gain support for the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V2. After the upgrade, bridged USDC (USDC.e) on Linea will be automatically converted to native USDC, with no need for applications or holders to modify code or exchange assets.
