TechFlow news — On March 5, according to The Block, the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA), a nonprofit organization established with a two-year, $50 million grant from Ripple, officially launched. The NCA aims to help Americans better understand the cryptocurrency industry through a consumer education platform.
Ali Tager, Vice President of Communications at NCA, stated that although the organization was founded by Ripple, it operates independently of any single company and will provide resources for everyone who uses, holds, or wants to learn more about cryptocurrencies. The NCA emphasizes that it is not a political or lobbying group but rather focuses on promoting cryptocurrency awareness and education.
To ensure independence, the NCA has registered as a 501(c)(4) organization, accountable to the best interests of consumers rather than product revenues or profit margins. Tager said: "We are actively listening to the community, directly gathering feedback from real cryptocurrency users, engaging with industry experts and leaders, and establishing an advisory committee to incorporate more third-party perspectives."
The NCA plans to release later this month a research report on U.S. cryptocurrency holders, based on a survey of 10,000 respondents conducted between January and February. Preliminary data indicates that as many as 21% of Americans could be cryptocurrency users, and 76% of holders say cryptocurrencies have had a positive impact on their lives. Additionally, 73% of respondents believe it is important for the United States to become a global leader in the industry, and 81% are excited about the future applications of cryptocurrency in investing, shopping, gaming, and digital collectibles.
