TechFlow news, on March 5, according to Jinshi News, U.S. President Trump announced in his congressional address that the reciprocal tariffs set for April 2 would take effect. Trump also stated that the CHIPS Act should be repealed, with related funds redirected toward reducing the national debt.
In addition, he plans to take measures later this week to significantly expand domestic production of critical minerals and rare earths in the United States, and reiterated his call for increased oil drilling within the country.
Trump also mentioned establishing a new Office of Shipbuilding and introducing fresh tax incentives to boost the shipbuilding industry, while seeking comprehensive, permanent income tax reductions. On Ukraine, Trump said he received a letter from Ukrainian President Zelenskyy indicating Ukraine's willingness to return to negotiations with Russia and sign a mineral resources agreement.
Notably, the congressional address made no mention of cryptocurrency-related topics.
