TechFlow reports on March 4 that Bybit CEO Ben Zhou disclosed the total stolen funds amount to $1.4 billion (approximately 500,000 ETH), of which 77% remains traceable, 20% is now untraceable, and 3% has already been frozen.
Detailed analysis shows that 83% (417,348 ETH, worth about $1 billion) has been converted into Bitcoin and distributed across 6,954 wallets. The hacker primarily used THORChain to convert ETH to BTC, accounting for approximately 72% (361,255 ETH). Another 16% of the funds (79,655 ETH) were lost through the ExCH platform, and 8% of the funds (40,233 ETH) were transferred via OKX Web3 gateway, with around 5% of these becoming untraceable.
Currently, 11 security teams have assisted in freezing the assets, with Mantle, Paraswap, and ZachXBT ranking top three, collectively receiving bounties totaling 2.179 million USDT.
