TechFlow news, on February 28, according to Cointelegraph, Pi Network responded to the controversy sparked by Bybit CEO Ben Zhou questioning its legitimacy. Previously, an X account claiming to be Pi Network's "unofficial technical team" stated that the project had rejected Bybit's listing proposal. Zhou subsequently accused Pi Network of being a "scam," citing warning reports from Chinese authorities.
Pi Network told Cointelegraph that it has no affiliation with the said X account and confirmed that Bybit has never submitted a Know Your Business (KYB) verification request. Regarding the warning from Chinese law enforcement, Pi Network clarified that the incident involved bad actors impersonating the project, not the company itself.
On the dispute over user numbers, Pi Network explained that its claimed 60 million users refer to app users, while the 10.8 million users shown on blockchain explorers represent those who have created wallets on the mainnet.
