TechFlow reported on February 28 that, according to CoinDesk, NEAR AI, Coinbase's payments and AI division, along with several other blockchain and AI projects, have jointly formed the Open Agents Alliance (OAA), aiming to deliver open artificial intelligence services through integrated infrastructure.
The alliance’s primary goal is to “ensure secure, open-source, affordable, and fair access to AI.” Participating organizations will provide integrated infrastructure, including AI agent frameworks, cloud hosting, and fiat-to-crypto on- and off-ramps, enabling developers to build and deploy AI tools.
Illia Polosukhin, co-founder of NEAR Protocol, said the collaboration will offer developers more resources and tools, accelerating the development of an open AI ecosystem. The formation of the alliance also reflects the blockchain industry’s growing emphasis on applying artificial intelligence technologies and a shared vision of advancing technological democratization.
