TechFlow reports, on February 27, Mask Network founder Suji Yan posted that today was his birthday, and about three hours prior, a public wallet on his phone had been hacked, resulting in the theft of over $4 million in assets.
Suji Yan stated that all stolen transactions appeared to be manually executed and lasted for more than 11 minutes. Therefore, either his private key was leaked on his birthday, or it could have been an offline attack.
Suji Yan mentioned he was attending a private gathering with around a dozen friends at the time, and his phone was left unattended for several minutes when he went to the restroom. He trusts his friends, but acknowledged this is a nightmare scenario for anyone. He has already contacted SlowMist and ZachXBT to assist with the investigation.
