TechFlow news — On February 27, according to an official statement, the Pump.fun team has successfully regained control of its compromised social media accounts and confirmed that this security incident was limited solely to the X platform account breach, with no impact on other systems.
According to the official investigation findings, the team became aware of the account compromise around 15:20 UTC on February 26, 2025. Despite implementing stringent security measures—including physical security keys, Google two-factor authentication, and regularly rotating complex passwords—the attackers still managed to bypass these defenses.
On-chain data analyst ZachXBT's investigation suggests that this attack may have been carried out by the same group responsible for previous hacking incidents targeting Jupiter and WIF. The attackers may have used social engineering tactics to deceive employees at X or exploited system vulnerabilities to gain unauthorized access to the account.
The Pump.fun team emphasizes that its official accounts and associated personnel will never post contract addresses or wallet addresses. Users are urged to verify the authenticity of any information through multiple channels before taking any action.
