TechFlow news, on February 26, according to the Southeast Morning Post, 21 staff members from Elon Musk's "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) collectively resigned on February 25 local time. In their joint resignation letter, they stated their refusal to use their technical expertise to "dismantle essential public services," and criticized many of those recruited by Musk as "political fantasists" lacking the skills or experience necessary to carry out their duties.
Meanwhile, on February 25, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that recently dismissed federal employees are welcome to apply for state government positions through an online portal. Currently, DOGE is coordinating federal workforce reductions with the stated goal of cutting down the federal bureaucracy, although no official total number of layoffs has been released.
