TechFlow reported on February 17 that, according to Bitcoin News, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is publicly soliciting new members for its Investor Advisory Committee. Established under Section 911 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the committee primarily advises the SEC on regulatory priorities, securities products, trading strategies, and related matters.
SEC Acting Chair Mark T. Uyeda stated that diverse investor perspectives will help the SEC better fulfill its mission. Applicants must submit their applications via email by March 15, 2025. Notably, since Uyeda succeeded Gary Gensler as acting chair, the SEC's stance on cryptocurrency regulation has shifted, with Commissioner Hester Peirce now leading a new working group dedicated to revising digital asset regulations.
