TechFlow News, on February 11, according to Cryptonews, Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy, revealed that Ukraine is poised to legalize cryptocurrency before summer this year. The core content of the bill has been finalized and is scheduled to be passed before summer 2025. According to the bill's framework, crypto assets will be subject to the same tax rates as traditional investment assets, without any special preferential policies.
Although ultimate regulatory authority will belong to Ukraine's National Securities and Stock Market Commission, due to the agency's current lack of relevant regulatory capacity, oversight will be temporarily assumed by the National Bank of Ukraine. Hetmantsev stated that Parliament is still deliberating specific issues such as methods for monitoring blockchain transactions, detailed taxation rules for crypto assets, and transitional arrangements for existing holdings that cannot provide proof of purchase.
