TechFlow news — According to CNBC, Tom Goldstein, a prominent U.S. Supreme Court lawyer, has been taken into custody over allegations of concealing cryptocurrency assets. Prosecutors allege that Goldstein failed to disclose to the pretrial services two crypto wallets under his control, which received over $8 million last week and transferred out more than $6 million within the past five days.
Prosecutors stated that since November 2022, one of the wallets has received and sent approximately $75.6 million and $73.6 million, respectively. Goldstein was indicted in January this year for evading $5.3 million in taxes. Authorities believe he poses a flight risk and violated rules prohibiting unauthorized fund transfers. Additionally, he is accused of providing cryptocurrency to individuals with inside knowledge in an attempt to influence witnesses.
