TechFlow news, on February 10, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman wrote in his latest blog post "Three Observations" that AI development is showing three major trends: the intelligence level of AI models has a logarithmic relationship with training resources; the cost of using AI decreases by about 90% every 12 months, with GPT-4 token costs dropping approximately 150-fold between early 2023 and mid-2024; and the socioeconomic value created by linearly increasing intelligence grows super-exponentially.
Altman stated that OpenAI is rolling out AI Agents, which will serve as "virtual colleagues" across various fields. Taking software engineering as an example, AI Agents in the future will possess capabilities equivalent to engineers with several years of experience, although they will still require human guidance in terms of innovation. He predicts that by 2035, every individual will have access to intelligence equivalent to the collective human intelligence of 2025. Meanwhile, AI will significantly reduce the prices of goods but may drive up the prices of scarce resources such as land.
Altman emphasized that to ensure AGI (artificial general intelligence) benefits all of humanity, it is essential to strike a balance between safety and individual empowerment, and he suggested providing everyone with a "computing budget" to achieve equitable access to AI.
