TechFlow reported, citing Blockworks, that Katherine Dowling, Bitwise's general counsel and former U.S. prosecutor, said the SEC is currently in a "transition period" and must wait for the confirmation of incoming chairman Paul Atkins.
Dowling noted that cooperation between the SEC and the CFTC is strengthening, with the newly established cryptocurrency working group taking a positive stance. However, on issues regarding the securities classification of assets such as XRP and Solana, the SEC still awaits guidance from its new leadership. She expects a Bitcoin-Ethereum combo ETF to be approved relatively quickly, while other crypto asset ETFs will likely face longer approval timelines.
