TechFlow reported on February 5 that, according to The Information, Google has officially ended its six-year-old pledge not to use artificial intelligence for weapons or surveillance.
Under Google's latest policy, the company will responsibly use AI "through appropriate human oversight, due diligence, and feedback mechanisms" to align with user objectives, social responsibilities, and widely accepted international laws and human rights principles.
James Manyika, Senior Vice President of Research at Google, and Demis Hassabis, Head of AI, stated in an article that democratic nations should lead AI development guided by core values.
