TechFlow news, January 27 — According to The Block, Ripple announced on Monday that it has obtained money transmitter licenses (MTL) in New York and Texas. Joanie Xie, Managing Director for North America at Ripple, said there is strong demand from various financial institutions for compliant cross-border payment solutions.
Ripple now holds over 55 MTL licenses globally, including in 33 U.S. states. The company said it has been affected by the "Trump effect," with 75% of its job openings concentrated in the United States, and its domestic hiring in 2024 doubled compared to 2023. Additionally, Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD, launched in December 2024, will be integrated into the Ripple Payments system this year.
