TechFlow news, January 27 — According to Bitcoin.com News, Artem Kiryanov, Deputy Chairman of Russia's State Duma, stated that the digital ruble will serve as a potential tool to counter sanctions. He emphasized that the digital ruble has a dual role in enhancing transparency of public spending and facilitating international transactions.
Kiryanov said the digital ruble will ensure 100% transparency in state and municipal procurement, strengthen financial discipline, and reduce misuse of funds. Additionally, the digital ruble is expected to help entrepreneurs facing Western sanctions conduct smoother cross-border transactions.
According to Russian President Putin, the digital ruble is scheduled to be rolled out nationwide in July this year.
