TechFlow reports on January 23, Grégory Raymond, a friend of Ledger founder Eric Larchevêque, clarified that previous rumors of a kidnapping and ransom were false, and that Eric Larchevêque is currently safe.
Raymond urged the public to be cautious about related information, as false rumors could interfere with an ongoing investigation in France and potentially endanger lives. Earlier, media reported that Larchevêque had been kidnapped and that the kidnappers demanded a bitcoin ransom.
