TechFlow News, January 21 — According to Bitcoin.com News, concerns within the Ethereum ecosystem about its pace of development are growing.
Jesse Pollak, head of Base (Coinbase's Layer 2 network), criticized Ethereum's current roadmap as overly conservative and called for advancing the planned upgrades—originally slated for 2027—to early 2026.
Dankrad Feist, an Ethereum Foundation developer, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the current growth plan "lacks ambition" and pointing out flaws in the existing upgrade process. Feist also challenged the notion that scalability can only be achieved through Layer 2 solutions, emphasizing that large-scale scaling at Ethereum’s base layer is feasible.
