TechFlow reports that on January 13, SlowMist founder Yu Xian warned of an ongoing Telegram Safeguard scam now targeting Mac users. Attackers are injecting malicious code into Telegram to hijack users' clipboards. Yu Xian cautioned that when users see specific instructions within Telegram, their clipboard may already be compromised, and following such instructions could lead to severe security risks.
Previously, user @0xDiyaaa shared their experience of nearly losing assets after clicking a Telegram link disguised as a verification code in a social media comment section. After executing the malicious command, they narrowly avoided loss by quickly detecting the attack and transferring their assets using pre-prepared handwritten recovery phrases. Users are advised to remain cautious about clicking unknown links—especially Telegram links found in social media comments—and to securely back up their wallet recovery phrases offline.
