TechFlow News, January 9 — According to Cointelegraph, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced in Bangalore that the company will invest $3 billion in India over the next two years to expand its cloud computing and AI businesses, marking Microsoft's largest investment in the country to date.
Microsoft will collaborate with INDIAai, the Indian government’s AI initiative, aiming to train 500,000 people in AI skills by 2026 and 10 million people in cloud computing and AI skills by 2030.
Notably, Microsoft has established strategic partnerships with multiple Indian enterprises including RailTel and Apollo Hospitals, and will provide 1,000 AI startups with Azure credits, business resources, and mentorship through its Founders Hub program. Since 2024, Microsoft has trained 2.4 million people in India and is currently building the "AI Catalysts" initiative to drive AI innovation in smaller cities.
