He stated that this is not just a Bitcoin reserve but includes cryptocurrencies such as ETH and BNB, setting a precedent that will surely inspire many others in the future. This decision reflects Bhutan's open-minded approach and welcoming stance toward cryptocurrencies, making it a smart move to attract crypto businesses, investment, and innovation.
CZ emphasized that the Kingdom of Bhutan has long used clean energy—specifically surplus hydropower—for Bitcoin mining and already accumulated Bitcoin reserves over the years. For BNB, this represents significant recognition. It also sets a precedent for BNB and other cryptocurrencies to be included in national strategic reserves around the world.
