TechFlow reports on January 8 that OKLink released its 2024 Security Annual Report, showing that blockchain security incidents across the network caused cumulative losses of approximately $1.945 billion. Losses due to private key leaks decreased by 65.45% compared to 2023, amounting to about $305 million, accounting for 16% of total losses. Phishing scams resulted in $705 million in losses, representing 36% of total losses. REKT events and RugPull incidents caused $383 million and $141 million in losses respectively.
Mainstream public blockchains remained primary targets for hackers, with BTC, ETH, and ARB suffering losses of $744 million, $902 million, and $228 million respectively.
In 2024, OKLink continued to strengthen its efforts, providing core technical support to over 120 municipal-level organizations, successfully assisting in more than 300 cases involving a total fund value of approximately $685 million. Meanwhile, OKLink also offered a range of on-chain security tools and features, such as address monitoring and token approval queries, helping users quickly check and manage assets authorized from their addresses to smart contracts, identify suspicious transactions and addresses, and thereby prevent risky transactions.
