TechFlow news, January 3 — The standoff between South Korea's Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the Presidential Security Service continues, with no arrests yet made for obstructing official duties.
Earlier today, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials moved to execute an arrest warrant against suspended President Yoon Suk-yeol. On December 31, 2024, Seoul Western District Court issued the arrest warrant on suspicion of instigating insurrection and abuse of power—the first time in South Korea's constitutional history that an active president has faced such a warrant. The warrant remains valid until January 6.
