TechFlow news — On January 2, according to Cryptoslate, the bankrupt crypto lending platform Celsius Network filed an appeal on December 31, 2024, challenging Judge John Dorsey's ruling dismissing its $2 billion defamation claim against FTX.
Celsius alleged that false statements by FTX executives and employees harmed its reputation and accelerated its bankruptcy. It later amended its claim to $444 million, focusing instead on recovering preferential transfers. Judge Dorsey dismissed both the original and amended claims due to procedural deficiencies, noting that Celsius failed to seek court approval for the delayed amendment.
