TechFlow news — On December 31, according to Cointelegraph, in a filing submitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Judge Alvin Hellerstein postponed the civil trial date in the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) lawsuit against Gemini from January 13 to January 21, adding that "there will be no further delays."
The case stems from CFTC's 2022 allegations that Gemini made false or misleading statements to the CFTC when applying in 2017 to offer bitcoin futures contracts. The delayed trial will take place shortly after the inauguration of a new U.S. president, which could influence the CFTC's stance toward Gemini and other cryptocurrency firms.
