TechFlow reports, on December 27, according to a CoinGecko report, the top three best-performing cryptocurrencies in 2024 were: VIRTUAL (up 23,079%), BRETT (up 14,785%), and POPCAT (up 10,459%).
Specifically, VIRTUAL, the native token of AI agent platform Virtuals Protocol, rose from $0.01311 at the beginning of the year to $3.04 on December 25; Base ecosystem meme coin BRETT surged from its February 29 issuance price of $0.0009766 to $0.145 on December 25; Solana-based meme coin POPCAT climbed from $0.00764 at the start of the year to $0.8067.
Notably, seven out of the top ten best-performing tokens this year were meme coins, including BRETT, POPCAT, MOG (up 6,051%), TURBO (up 3,036%), FARTCOIN (up 2,890%), AI16Z (up 1,410%), and PEPE (up 1,401%).
