TechFlow News — On December 25, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that Russian companies have begun using Bitcoin and other digital currencies in international payments after legislative adjustments allowed their use to counter Western sanctions.
This year, Russia has permitted the use of cryptocurrencies in foreign trade and taken steps to legalize cryptocurrency mining, including Bitcoin. Russia is one of the world's leading countries in Bitcoin mining. Siluanov stated, "Such transactions are already taking place. We believe these types of transactions should be further expanded and developed. I believe this will happen next year."
He also added that the use of digital currencies in international payments represents a future trend.
