TechFlow news, on December 23, Bernie Moreno, the newly elected Republican senator from Ohio, will serve on the Senate Banking Committee, which oversees the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and plays a key role in shaping cryptocurrency legislation.
In 2018, Moreno founded Ownum, a company that sells technology for recording automobile ownership on the blockchain. Prior to entering politics, he was a member of The Digital Chamber, a blockchain policy organization. While Moreno did not list cryptocurrencies among the 16 core "policy priorities" on his campaign website, he has posted multiple statements on X expressing support for the industry and publicly opposed harsh regulatory environments during his campaign in the months leading up to the election.
