TechFlow news — On December 20, according to The Independent, the UK High Court sentenced Craig Wright to 12 months in prison on December 19 for contempt of court, suspended over two years. In March, the court had already ruled that Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, and prohibited him from initiating any legal proceedings related to Bitcoin. However, in October, Wright filed a £900 billion intellectual property lawsuit, violating the court's injunction. Judge Mellor stated that Wright’s actions were a "blatant breach of orders" and showed "no remorse."
Wright appeared via video link and refused to disclose his exact location, only stating he was in Asia, and said he would appeal the ruling. Previously, the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) sued him and successfully blocked his copyright claims over the Bitcoin white paper.
