TechFlow reports, on December 19, MetaMask announced the launch of a pilot program for its cryptocurrency debit card in the United States. The card enables spending at any merchant that accepts Mastercard, allowing users to pay with USDC, USDT, and wETH on the Linea network, and supports integration with Apple Pay or Google Pay.
The MetaMask Card, developed collaboratively by MetaMask, Mastercard, and Baanx (Crypto Life), has already been launched in regions including the European Union, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. Unlike traditional crypto cards, this card operates as a debit card, eliminating the need for users to pre-transfer funds to a third party—instead, they can directly use their wallet's crypto assets, which are converted only at the time of payment. MetaMask stated it will expand the service to more regions in the coming months.
