TechFlow reports, on December 16, according to Cointelegraph, Ilya Sutskever, co-founder of OpenAI, said at the NeurIPS 2024 conference in Vancouver that the era of AI pre-training is coming to an end and the era of AI superintelligence is approaching. He compared data to fossil fuels, noting that internet data growth has peaked, while computational power is now growing faster than the total amount of available training data. Sutskever predicted that the next stage of AI development will be driven by three key directions: autonomous AI agents, synthetic data, and compute during reasoning.
