TechFlow news, December 5 — According to Jinshi News citing U.S. Labor Department data, initial jobless claims increased last week. For the week ending November 30, new unemployment claims rose to 224,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 215,000. Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal had expected 215,000 new claims. Meanwhile, continuing claims decreased to 1.87 million from the prior week’s 1.90 million.
The data indicate that while initial claims rose, they remain relatively stable. The November employment report is scheduled for release on Friday. Analysts expect a significant rebound in hiring after October’s figures were affected by hurricanes and the Boeing strike.
