TechFlow news, on December 4, according to DLNews, as Bitcoin's price approaches $100,000 this year, New York City Mayor Eric Adams expressed satisfaction with his cryptocurrency salary decision. "Remember when you all laughed at me for taking my first paycheck in Bitcoin?" he said during a Tuesday press conference. "Who's laughing now?"
Upon taking office in January 2022, Adams converted approximately $30,000 of his salary from the first three months into Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to his latest financial disclosure statement, by the end of 2023, the value of his Bitcoin holdings ranged between $5,000 and $54,999. Besides Adams, Miami Mayor Suarez and Belgian parliament member De Beukelaer have also chosen to receive their salaries in Bitcoin.
