TechFlow reported on November 29 that the Singapore Police Force and the Cyber Security Agency issued a joint warning urging the public to be vigilant against new scam tactics targeting cryptocurrency wallets. Authorities noted that scammers primarily use three methods: impersonating legitimate organizations on social media to promote fake giveaway campaigns, pretending to be executives from cryptocurrency firms to send malicious links, and exploiting phishing websites and smart contract vulnerabilities to gain unauthorized access to users' wallets.
To counter these threats, Singapore authorities recommend using hardware wallets for offline storage, enabling two-factor authentication, and regularly monitoring account activity. If suspicious activity is detected, users should immediately contact their exchange to freeze the account, revoke suspicious token approvals, and transfer assets to a secure wallet.
