TechFlow news — On November 27, according to an official announcement, Tether announced it will discontinue support for its euro-pegged stablecoin EUR₮, stating that it has not accepted new issuance requests since processing the last minting request in 2022. Holders must complete redemptions by November 27, 2025.
Tether said the decision is based on the evolving regulatory framework for stablecoins in the European market. The company will now focus on new ventures, including supporting Quantoz Payments in issuing EURQ and USDQ stablecoins compliant with MiCAR regulations. These stablecoins will be powered by Tether's newly launched Hadron technology platform.
