TechFlow reported on November 26 that according to the Financial Times, Telegram generated revenue of $525 million in the first half of 2024, a 190% year-on-year increase, with after-tax profits reaching $335 million. Advertising revenue doubled to $120 million, while premium subscription revenue reached $119 million. The company's digital asset holdings surged from $400 million at the end of last year to $1.3 billion.
Telegram secured a one-time income of $225 million through an exclusive advertising payment agreement with Toncoin, which made Toncoin the sole payment method for small business ads on the platform—this agreement ended on October 1. Additionally, the company earned $353 million from selling digital assets during the first half of the year, followed by a further sale of $348 million worth of Toncoin. Compared to its full-year 2023 performance of $342 million in revenue and a $173 million loss, Telegram is on track to achieve its first annual profit.
