TechFlow news, on November 25, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on Warpcast stating that the crypto industry should not blindly develop applications, but instead focus on specific use cases that can make the world more free and open. "The idea of 'needing applications for the sake of applications' is fundamentally soulless. What we need are specific categories of applications that both genuinely make the world freer, more open, and collaborative, and achieve organic adoption. We actually have such examples! Polymarket is good; anoncast shows strong promise in protecting free speech while avoiding spam and low-quality content."
Vitalik further emphasized five key application areas: information markets and finance, cryptographic social systems (including zero-knowledge proofs and reputation systems), payment systems, savings tools, and zero-knowledge identity verification and voting systems. He believes these applications can truly drive industry progress and achieve organic growth.
