TechFlow news, on November 22, according to Reuters, several executives in the digital asset industry revealed that prominent crypto firms including Ripple, Kraken, and Circle are vying to join the cryptocurrency advisory committee promised by Trump. Sources indicated that Andreessen Horowitz's crypto arm a16z is expected to secure a seat, though an a16z spokesperson declined to comment.
The advisory committee could be established under the White House National Economic Council and would be responsible for advising on digital asset policies, coordinating with Congress on crypto legislation, establishing a Bitcoin reserve, and liaising with agencies such as the SEC, CFTC, and Treasury Department. Trump’s team is also considering appointing a cryptocurrency "czar" to lead the committee.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire has publicly expressed interest in joining, while Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong recently met with Trump. Market expectations that a Trump administration will adopt pro-crypto policies have already driven Bitcoin prices to new highs.
